Honouring legacy.
We were engaged by First Nations Eye Health Alliance to capture Aunty Janetβs story - tracing her decades-long career in eye health across remote Aboriginal communities. Our team travelled to Broome to film with her on Country, grounding the story in place, culture, and connection.
Janet Richardson (Puertollano) is a Baard and Yawuru Ooranyg/Ngala Jandu (Salt Water woman) from the Dampier Peninsula in the West Kimberley. Her work has shaped access to eye health services for generations, earning recognition including the Kullarri NAIDOC Award β Lifetime Contribution to Health.
Created to accompany her keynote at the Allianceβs 2026 conference at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, this film brings together story, impact, and legacy - capturing the depth of her contribution and the communities she continues to serve.
It was a pleasure to work with Jalani Media. Maddie and Tom are gifted storytellers who understand the brief and just execute on it so beautifully. Tom and Maddie have created a few videos for us, including a storytelling piece with an Elder in eye care. The videos created are beautiful, fit the look and feel we were looking for, and uplift our communities. Happily, recommend Jalani Media to anyone who needs similar work done. Thanks again, Jalani Media!
